For a long time I had a very two-dimensional view of health. I saw it as a simple math equation: calories in vs. calories out. Eat healthy foods and work out every day, end of story. Obviously being active and eating healthy foods is a major part of health, but they certainly aren’t the only two variables.
It’s no surprise I felt like there was something missing. Even when I was doing “everything right,” I was still neglecting important parts of my health. I ignored the connection between body and mind and didn’t even consider how powerful of a force happiness can be in healthy living. Truly, focusing on positivity and happiness has made everything more clear to me.
Today I’m sharing 4 Wellness Rituals that I actually do on a regular basis.
4 Wellness Rituals That Will Change Your Health
There is no “right way” to journal. When I first started to journal I put far too much pressure on myself to write and it wasn’t beneficial at all. I moved on to jotting down thoughts or ideas with no stress to document my day or sometimes just doodling. It doesn’t matter how you journal, just put pen to paper and see what happens.
Life is busy and we don’t always put ourselves first, well I’m here to remind you that you should treat yourself! Face masks and facials are a great way to pamper yourself. Check out my favorite all natural facial here.
Let’s be real, there’s a lot of hype around drinking warm lemon water in the morning. There are hundreds of articles claiming that it helps with digestion, flush toxins, helps your immune system and so on. I’m not trying to say that it can do all this magically and over night. Drinking lemon water certainly does not hurt, and for me it’s more of a calming ritual and a way to gently wake up my system instead of a glass of ice cold water.
Find a Mantra
Thoughts manifest into beliefs, which control behaviors. You’re attitude and your inner dialogue can either reap major benefits or do mega damage. When I get stuck on a negative thought pattern or become preoccupied by worries or negative thoughts, I try to think of a word or mantra that I can refocus my energy on.
All of these rituals make wellness approachable. Wellness rituals are so important in this busy world we now live in, hopefully you can adopt one or all of these rituals into your life.
